DACA Renewal Information

Recipients whose DACA and work authorization expire between Sept. 5, 2017, and March 5, 2018, are eligible for renewal by Oct. 5, 2017.

On Tuesday, September 5, 2017, the United States Justice Department ordered an end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act (DREAMERS Act). This program was created to shield young undocumented immigrants from deportation.

As early as March 2018, some of the 800,000 young adults brought to the United States illegally as children who qualify for the program will become eligible for deportation. The current "DREAMERS" Act policy allows qualifying young adults (ages 15-34) to remain in the United States without fear of immediate removal from the country, and gives them the right to work legally.

DACA recipients whose legal status expires on or before March 5, 2018 are still eligible to renew their DACA Status but must apply by Thursday, October 5th. The filing fee is $495.00.
