Melville Charitable Trust Request for Proposals Employment & Educational Opportunity Fund

Melville Charitable Trust is requesting proposals for their Employment and Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF), which provides modest, highly flexible support for the employment related expenses, educational and training aspirations of homeless or formerly homeless individuals. Grants are made to Connecticut nonprofit providers on an annual basis, up to $7,500. Through the issuance of this RFP, Melville Charitable Trust hopes to continue to expand the reach of this program to organizations within Connecticut.

The EOF has its origins in queries from activists and providers who had been unable to obtain the relatively small sums that would enable those experiencing or exiting homelessness to cover costs related to attendance and participation such as: day-care, transportation, tools, uniforms, training/conferences, certificate/licensing feeds, or books.

Application guidelines and a simple application form can be found here.
Please contact Rebecca Allen rallen@melvilletrust.org with any questions. The Trust anticipated awarding 10-12 of these grants each year. Applications are due November 18, 2016. Click here to read more and apply now!
