Public Hearing: Tell Policymakers to Rein In State Spending

Do you want a say in how Connecticut spends your tax dollars? Now's your chance.

The state Spending Cap Commission is holding five public hearings across the state to get your input on what parts of the state budget should fall under the cap.

All hearings run from 4 to 7 pm.

Wed., Oct. 5 | Hartford (1st Congressional District)
Legislative Office Building, Room 1E
For those planning on testifying, signups will begin at 1 pm in Room 2700 of the LOB(Appropriations Committee Office). For all other hearings, signup is at 3 pm.

The spending cap was overwhelmingly approved by voters in 1992 after enactment of the state income tax. It is imperative that the legislature enact an enforceable cap that brings budget stability by capping the amount the state can spend in any given year.
