Veterans, active-duty service members and their families are nearly 40% more likely than civilians to lose money to scams and fraud.

Data released from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in February painted a grim picture for the military community, which continues to be among the groupsĀ most preyed upon by con artists.

Fraud cost veterans, active service members and their families $267 million in 2021 - an average of $600 per incident. Scammers use a variety of tactics to get their hands on veterans' hard-earned pensions and other service related benefits.
