GBLN honored 20 students last week for participating in the Civic Engagement for Youth Program. This program offered by GBLN teaches skills in leadership, financial literacy, field trips to learn about where decisions are made locally and at a state level (visit to capitol in Hartford) and downtown Bridgeport to understand the importance of economic development and the role it plays in a city/town.
As a wrap up to the program, the students gave back by performing a community service at the Cesar Batalla School by planting seeds that will bloom with beautiful flowers on the school grounds.
Thank you Pitney Bowes for funding this program.
