This Training:
Shelter Diversion is a strategy that prevents homelessness at the front door by helping them identify immediate alternate housing arrangements and, if necessary, connecting them with services and financial assistance to help them return to permanent housing. Diversion programs can reduce the number of families becoming homeless, the demand for shelter beds, and the size of program wait lists.
In this training we explore several Diversion strategies, including conflict resolution, based on the innovative work of Ed Boyte from the Cleveland Mediation Center. Please note that this training draws from the Diversion trainings held with Ed Boyte in February 2016 and this training will essentially review the same material.
Who should attend:
Agencies should send agency director, program management, front-line staff, and those interested in training others. Please note that the material will review the Diversion trainings from February 2016.
If you have any questions about this event, please contact Training and Communications Coordinator Sarah Chess at schess@cceh.org.
