FUERZAfest Connecticut, the first LGBTQ Latinx Arts Festival in the Northeast, is an unprecedented 2-day community event bringing LGBTQ issues to center stage. FUERZAfest Connecticut will be held August 25th through August 26th at the historical Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford.
At a time when Latinx and LGBTQ communities are under massive attack, FUERZAfest is creating a safe space where queer and trans brown people can come together to celebrate one another, enjoy each other's brilliance in art, dance and cinema and engage in much-needed political and social dialogue. FUERZAfest highlights stage and film work, art exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions and all of the scheduled events are free and open to the public with the exception of the theatrical performances by Seis, scheduled for August 26th at Hartbeat Ensemble Theatre.
A portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales for the theatre performances on August 26th will benefit Latino Community Services, Inc. in Hartford. Latino Community Services is dedicated to reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Latino community and other at-risk populations and improve the quality of life and health of people with HIV/AIDS.
