The last week has been a roller coaster for the 800,000 young immigrants currently protected by DACA -- and it’s taking its toll on the families and communities we serve.
First, President Trump acted on his threat to revoke DACA protections. This step by the President was both cruel and immoral. Ending DACA will shatter dreams and greatly undermine the potential of 800,000 deserving children and young people across the United States.
But in the last 24 hours, it seemed that the White House had agreed to help turn DACA protections into law. Then they back-peddled. Now they're on again.
The Hispanic Federation will always speak truth to power, and they are unwaivering when it comes to protecting DACA-mented and DACA-eligible youth. They’re working hard on the ground to support these children and their families through free legal screenings, scholarships for DACA applications and legal fees, and much more.
But their work is far from over. They need you to help them protect immigrant youth.
Your voice matters in this struggle. Here’s what you can do right now to stand up for immigrant communities:
Call on Congress – Tell Congress to immediately pass the bipartisan Dream Act of 2017 to protect the dreams and future of our young immigrants. Find your representative here.
Spread the real story – Help show the world that we are a people that embrace and support the dreams of our young strivers. Please share this video on social media:
Give – Support the Hispanic Federation's DACA Emergency Fund, which helps DACA-mented and DACA-eligible young people and their families access free legal screenings, scholarships for legal fees, and many more essential services. Learn about our immigration programs here.
