Nancy Silberkleit stepped in as co-CEO of the iconic, 75 year-old Archie Comics in 2009 with a vision that the comic book as a graphic novel is a valuable tool for developing literacy among first time readers and instilling a love of reading for everyone.
What makes Ms. Silberkleit unique among CEOs today is her previous position as an art teacher for 25 years before taking the leadership role in Archie Comics. Ms. Silberkleit said it was her experience as a teacher that made her transition possible to this new role. "The art of patience learned and taught in the classroom has been a great support for me in business."
Each guest will receive an Archie Comic which Ms. Silberkleit will sign at the conclusion of her presentation.
