BRIDGEPORT — Registration for the Department of Adult Education fall semester evening classes will take place Monday through Thursday, August 27-30, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Central High School library, 1 Lincoln Boulevard.
Classes begin on Tuesday, Sept. 4, for the credit diploma program, in which students receive a high school diploma upon completion of their coursework.
Students can also sign up for classes in English as a Second Language and GED (General Equivalency Development). ESL classes begin on Sept. 11 and GED classes will start on Sept. 17. The Bridgeport program can also accept students from out-of-town.
The evening classes are taught at Central High School, Monday through Thursday, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
“It’s very important for students to have good attendance,” said Michael J. Testani, director of the program. “Good attendance is the best predictor of success in the program.”
The classes are free, although students are expected to buy their own textbooks, which usually cost $10 or less. Students can call 203-275-1509 for more information on evening classes.
