The American Red Cross would like to offer you and your community free and available smoke alarms. Home fires threaten the lives of our neighbors and, sadly, take seven lives each day in the U.S. Most often, tragedies occur in homes without working smoke alarms—but these devices can cut the risk of death in half.
The American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign hosts Sound the Alarm events in cities across the Fairfield county. During these events, teams go door-to-door to install free smoke alarms, replace batteries in existing alarms and help families create home fire escape plans.
These services are free and available to all people in need. Already, they’ve helped save more than 500 lives nationwide through our Home Fire Campaign, and we want to make sure everyone in community has access to these free resources to stay safe.
