Help Us Spread the Word About DACA

In 2012, after many years of community struggle, President Obama announced a program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) which would protect certain individuals from deportation and provide a worker's authorization. There are about 14,000 people in Connecticut that may qualify for Deferred Action. Help us spread the word about this program and connect people to the right resources.

BEWARE OF NOTARIO FRAUD!

To apply for DACA and individual must comply with the following criteria:

  1. Arrived to the United States before the age of 16
  2. Must have been less than 31 years old on June 15, 2012
  3. Must be at least 15 years old to apply unless they are currently in deportation proceedings.
  4. Have lived continuously in the U.S. since June 15, 2007 until present time.
  5. Had no lawful status on June 15, 2012
  6. Currently enrolled in school (high school or GED), or have graduated from any of these programs.Or are an honorably discharged veteran of the Coast Guard or Armed Forces of the United States; and
  7. Must not have been convicted of a felony, certain types of misdemeanors or a combination of three or more misdemeanors.

Individuals that meet the criteria should nonetheless consult an attorney. Immigration law is a very complex field and we want to ensure the safety of our community.
