The year was 1984 and the VHS camcorder was all the rage and Frank Borres was an award-winning broadcast journalist. The News 12 Cablevision reporter at the time took the new videotape technology and started American View Productions (AVP).
Originally it was a part time event videotaping business, recording and photographing hundreds of weddings and events up until the end of his stint as a public relations officer with a Bridgeport Bank. In the 1990s it turned into a full-time creative agency producing videos as well graphic design and printed pieces for clients. In the mid 90s AVP started the Borres Productions arm which then created award winning documentaries and TV shows for public television (PBS).
