Hispanics In Philanthropy Announces PowerUp Fund

Hispanics In Philanthropy is excited to announce their PowerUp Fund, a strategy to leverage philanthropic dollars against private capital to build power, economic growth and ensure that Latinos have equal access to opportunity.

Currently the Latino Community in the U.S. is 58 Million strong and continuing to grow. It is predicted that by 2060, Latinos will make up over 28% of the total U.S. population totaling at 111 Million. Despite our strong and dynamic presence, Latinos still remain economically sidelined.

The PowerUp Fund aims to alleviate this problem by building power and spurring economic growth through leveraging philanthropic funds against private capital. For every Latino that calls the U.S. home, HIP is raising $1 to build a grand total fund of $58 Million to fuel economic growth and create equal access to opportunity for Latinos in our community.

Their strategies to accomplish this are to provide means of engagement and advocacy for Latino stakeholders, increase capacity and visibility of Latino investors and provide risk and discretionary capital for intermediaries and institutions to reduce gaps within the Latino Community.
