“Refugee” conjures many images which drive a confused public discourse around immigration, security, border control, and America’s priorities. This program will clarify the precise nature of this issue, which is easily lost in complex and emotional political debates. The Fairfield County Bar Association, the International Institute of Connecticut, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and the World Affairs Forum have assembled a panel of experts to address the public, providing facts and explaining the implications for America.
Panelists:
- Anne Richard, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration
- Claudia Connor, President and CEO, International Institute of Connecticut
- Aleksandr Troyb, Chair of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association
- Moderator: Krishna Patel, Justice Initiatives Director and General Counsel, Grace Farms Foundation
