Painting the Park City – Calling All Local Artists

The City of Bridgeport invites local artists and creative professionals to apply for “Painting
the Park City,” a beautification initiative to add color and vibrance to the downtown by
installing art and/or color themes on underpass walls and city structures.
Project The City of Bridgeport, Connecticut is accepting informal quotes with the intent to realize an art plan provided by the chosen artist(s). The design(s) will be used on underpasses and possibly
other blank City structures. The purpose of the request is to receive proposed price quotes.
The city will ultimately be requesting design concepts only. The selected artist or designer will be responsible to provide color palette information and consultation. The City be responsible to purchase and apply paint or install decals.
Submissions will be reviewed and evaluated using the following criteria:
▪ Does the artist’s concept include a design that is durable and easily applied?
▪ Is the artist’s work or proposed project sustainable and easily maintained?
▪ Does the artist have experience working with municipalities or underpasses?
▪ Is the design and the submission cost efficient?
All city and state policies will be considered and adhered to for the completion of this project.
Project Sites
Chosen design(s) will be applied to several sites as found in Appendix B and C.
